We were tuning our chassis for Nürburgring in Most
3.7.2011
Make the truck stable and speed up. That was the main task our racing group was facing in the past several days during a testing session at the Most track. Preparations for the fifth event of this year’s European truck racing championship at Nürburgring are at its peak.
“The cars are in a great shape. The engines are working just as we need them to, the geometry is great but we mainly focused on setting the chassis. We literally played with it, tuned the shock-absorbers and concentrated on overall stability of the truck,” commented our head mechanic Jan Richter.
The Most venue welcomed also our pilots Adam Lacko and Markus Oestreich, who adjusted and prepared their machines at the heated track. There was actually a moment when everybody’s head was steaming hot, and not only thanks to the weather. “The championship is breaking into its second half after the next racing weekend. Jochen Hahn has been unbeatable so far but there‘s been a tough fight over the remaining positions, so we mustn’t underestimate anything. On the contrary, we’re working on increasing our speed. It’s a slow process but we’re gradually focusing on all the details and taking little steps ahead. I admit that this kind of thinking can sometimes be painful as hell and testing in the incredible heat was exhausting for all of us, nevertheless, we’re going the right direction,” got it off his chest the team’s boss Mario Kress.
Obviously, we want to be at our best on Mario’s homeground. In as little as two weeks Formula 1 trophy race is coming to Nürburgring. The prestigious circuit is thus constantly under a close attention of fans. “I’m very happy with my car. It goes perfectly. That was also why we compared it with the trucks of my colleagues quite a lot. We’re one team dreaming of the podium and I believe we can show this at the next stop,” looks forward our driver Adam Lacko.
