We started a record bicycle race
18.7.2011
The past weekend gave the public an exceptional opportunity to see our racing machine in a whole new role. Apart from an exhibition in Poland we had been invited to open the traditional bicycle race Za pěnivou důvou in the neighbouring town of Terezín. It was no one else but Adam Lacko and his truck who were making way for the three hundred competitors. A one-day event dedicated to bike-lovers was attended by a record-breaking number of visitors who could watch some great sport performances.

This year’s Za pěnivou důvou bicycle race marked already a ninth anniversary of the event. Organized for a amateur cyclists by a group of enthusiasts, the contest can be tackled literally by anyone, regardless of their age, sex or type of bike they ride. The morning programme gave an opportunity to children to match their powers at the Terezín square. In the afternoon, the time came to start the main race, in which every racer could choose from two tracks of different length and difficulty. The track is taken up by handicapped cyclists with handbikes, too. This year’s pack included as many as two hundred and seventy-six bikers who were led by our racing truck from the restaurant Atypik in Terezín up to the track. “Honestly, we didn’t have a clue how big an event we were going to. We really enjoyed the day here and at the same time we’re pleased by the positive response we’ve received, I hope our truck added the little ‘extra something’ to the programme. We’ve had a blast here,“ said the excited Klára Kress, who awarded the race winners with the help of her husband Mario, some of these including premium prizes directly from our MKR Technology team.
