Three millimetres decides the result of season.

Literally three millimeters decided the final podium positions of the European Truck Racing Championship this year. Our dream of winning consecutive Team Championships, repeating our success of last year fell away in Saturday´s main race in Le Mans, France. our three trucks were supposed to start from the first three positions on the grid after a great result in qualifying but what followed was a penalty after the scrutineering officials measured the chassis on our trucks and decided that two of them were too low. This meant that Markus Bösiger and Markus Oestreich would have to start at the back of the field. Just three millimetres saw the end of a very good points result. Adam Lacko tried to raise the mood of the team with a third place in race 1 and a win in race 2.
“It´s our own fault. Unfortunately this is reality and in truck racing even small mistakes can result in big penalties. After Jarama we had to work hard on the trucks. We were happy that we had got them ready to race again in such a short space of time but we didn’t check the springs and two of our trucks were a few millimetres lower than is allowed. Normally we would only get a warning. This big penalty was not good for both our race and also for our sponsors. We are very disappointed but life goes on,” said a very disappointed boss of the team, Mario Kress, who always fights to the end. This time he had to admit that, already on Saturday, this year´s Team Championship had got away. David Vršecký won the race ahead of Uwe Nittel. Adam Lacko placed third after a hard fight. Bösiger and Oestreich crossed the line tenth and eleventh respectively.
The day´s second race was won by Adam Lacko who fought his way to the front from the sixth on the grid. Second was Jochen Hahn ahead of Norbert Kiss third. Markus Bösiger took the points for sixth whilst Oestreich was not able to finish the race due to an air pipe failure.
