The guys drove like machines bringing the dream of a full podium ever closer.

Sunday’s racing at the fourth stop of the European Truck Racing Championship at the Nogaro circuit in France was very good for us. All three MKR drivers spent the whole day in tandem, one after the other in a train like fashion. Whilst during the first race of the day they were not able to fight for the podium positions, the afternoon handicap race nearly saw the big dream about a complete MKR podium come true. Again it was prevented by just one, but an altogether more surprising competitor.
The Renault train was already formed on the starting grid for the main race following the results of qualifying, however the beautiful view of the black and red set was ruined by the fact that ahead of us were four other drivers – the current king of the track Jochen Hahn, reigning champion Antonio Albacete and more surprisingly Uwe Nittel and David Vršecký. As a result we had to be satisfied for the points gained for finishing fifth, sixth and seventh in the order Oestreich, Bosiger and Lacko. This balanced result brought us second place in the team competition.
Our big joy came in the afternoon‘s handicap race. If it wasn’t for the Spaniard Javier Mariezcurrena and his MAN we would have filled the podium. Second place belonged to Lacko, third to Bosiger and fourth Oestreich, who this time didn´t take the walk up to the podium. This excellent result underlined the victory in team championship and second place for our junior team. „The weekend finally finished well for us. I had to defend my place from Antonio Albacete for a long time, he tried everything to get past me leaving nothing to spare, it cost us a few plastic parts but we were able to hold our positions and can celebrate now. I would say this was a great example of teamwork,“ smiled Markus Oestreich.
After the fourth race at Nogaro there are no changes in the championship standings, Germany‘s Hahn is still leading, ahead of the Spaniard Albacete with our Markus Oestreich third.
