‘Party Transformers‘ Are Built In Štětí
17.1.2012
Only a few kilometres from our base there are unique trailers being built which resemble the toy machines from the American Transformers blockbuster. There is only a small number of groups constructing a ‘transformer‘ like this which, with one push of a button, can turn itself from an ordinary looking truck into a pub on wheels for a hundred people. In the Czech Republic, one piece like this is being built in Štětí, the Litoměřice region, and our MKR team is at the birth of this European uniqueness.
‘We call it a mobile bar and really, its is mechanically controlled using wireless technology. In just a while almost a hundred square metres of area spreads itself in front of your eyes, ready to be used,’ described the invention David Procházka, executive manager of the MKR Group company which is building the facility.
After the truck spreads itself you get a venue fully equipped with music and light installation. Inside you can find a bar with a faucet, a fridge, a dishwasher and the whole facility is heated. This allows it to be used for a number of occasions including a disco, catering, music festivals or advertising and presentation events. ‘I´ve actually seen several hundreds of people jumping to music inside, which I think must have been one hell of a test,‘ commented Procházka jokingly, and continued presenting the facility in a more serious tone,‘It sounds very simple – you drive to a spot, unfold the trailer, make a party, fold it back and leave. This was exactly what we wanted, that’s why the whole facility is fully automated. We must stay with both feet on the grand though, this is not a sci-fi. If the bluetooth shuts down, there is a back-up cable solution available. Of course you need to monitor the whole unfolding process so that you don’t neglect anything in the given location and the construction is stable,‘ warned Procházka and added that it takes about an hour to erect a pub on the green field.
The idea to start the unique ‘mobile bar‘ was brought up by our team’s boss, the constructor Mario Kress, who worked with David Procházka and his mechanics to turn it into reality. The MKR Group label is not a coincidence. ‘There’s a small step from racing trucks to ordinary trucks and hence the trailers. Mario focuses on building a fast racing truck and our job is to arrange a place where we can celebrate his success,‘ smiled David Procházka.
