Our express train claimed another podium double

Our Renaults ran like an express train once again on Sunday at the Nurburgring. Not only in the main race of European Truck Racing Championship were all three trucks in formation but also in handicap race the podium places were taken by two of our drivers – Lacko and Bosiger.

The second day of the fifth stop of the championship was more positive for us. All three drivers stated fron the second and third rows of the grid but for the huge German crowd we made the race very intersting. Our three black and red trucks ran in formation to the finish in the order of Markus Oestreich fourth, Adam Lacko fifth and Markus Bosiger sixth. Ahead of us on the podium was Antonio Albacete, Jochen Hahn and Uwe Nittel. „It was a joy to see the guys fighting like this. We have already showed similar form this season but always somebody manages to finish ahead of us. Todays afternoon race reinforced to us that some day soon the podium will be filled by MKR drivers. If we didn´t have a little bad luck I am sure we would´ve already achieved this today,“ said without doubt our boss Mario Kress.

The dramatic process of the afternoon´s race was succesful. In typical Nurburgring style the race was heavily influenced by a sudden downpour of rain that arrived minutes before the formation lap making conditions treacherous. The race was red flagged on the first lap due to a big accident and later restarted. With his truck completeley damaged the current championship leader, Germany´s Jochen Hahn, was unable to finish. At the front were the drivers of the team from North Bohemia. First was David Vršecký from Roudnice Buggyra with the remaining podium positions belonging to us. Second was Markus Bosiger and third Adam Lacko. After an incident on the first lap of the restart, Markus Oestreich drove brilliantly to move up from the very back of the pack to seventh position.. „It was such bad luck, on the extremely slippery surface I made a small mistake and lost a lot of positions. I have to admit that at that moment I did not feel very safe in the truck. The track was like ice but despite this the race was very nice,“ said Markus Oestreich.

In both Sunday races both of our teams MKR Technology and MKR Team 14 Juniors placed on the podium.
