Oese came to check on our basecamp
20.7.2011
It was the first historical visit of our pilot Markus Oestreich in our team’s home facility. Although he had visited Czech countless times, we welcomed him in his home-ground of our technology only now, in the time of heated preparations for the last testing after which we leave for the sixth event of the European Truck Racing Chmpionship in Smolensk, Russia.
“I admit, it’s hard to believe. I know the track in Most perfectly, we did some tests in Panenský Týnec and I have visited several other places in Czech but it’s really the very first time I have come to the Židovice garage. Our mechanics always prepare everything just spot- on and I meet the guys at all our common events, so I hadn’t had a reason to come here until today. I’m afraid I’d just get in their way,“ smiled the friendly pilot Markus Oestreich, a native of the German town of Fulda, coincidently a sister town of Litoměřice in the north Bohemia.

Our pilot made use of the new testing session before the Smolensk event, where our team is going to move already during the upcoming weekend, as the sixth stop is among the most complicated ones as far as logistics is concerned. The Russian episode of this year’s schedule takes place in two weeks. “Well, there’s not much time for tests right now. We had two days available at the Most track, where we were focusing on the overall stability of the machines and the optimal setting of the bodywork,“ shared with us the team’s boss Mario Kress, also stating that the team have been working on adjusting the axes and the brake systems.
