Miss Czech Republic 2007 winner Sokolová came to support our pilots

It’s no surprise that hot women and fast cars go together like gin and tonic. But a Miss of the Czech Republic cheering for monstrous racing trucks? That must warm the heart of every fan. Indeed, our team got a load of support from the former winner of the prestigious beauty contest Kateřina Sokolová, who came to the Italian town of Misano to watch the second event of the European championship truck racing series.
And the Miss wasn’t here as a mere decoration – she let her feelings out and cheered like a pro. The whole time she was clutching a big plush toy truck fashioned in the colours of or racing machine. “Adam’s girlfriend found out that it brought us luck at the beginning when we took it to the pit line and so we’ve dubbed it our lucky charm. It’ll just need a little more training,“ smiled Katřina Sokolová, pointing to the fact that our team was aiming for victory but in the end we collected results which would make every opponent giddy – a silver, two bronzes and two spots just off the podium.
However, the beauty contest winner did not turn up at the racing track by accident. It was her friend and our pilot Adam Lacko who has brought her to the truck racing world. “Last year, Áda asked me to become the patron of his racing truck, which I was happy and honoured to do and since then I’ve grown more interested in the sport. Áda is a fresher in your team so I wanted to support him and also it’s quite close from Milan where I’m currently working. Plus I’ve had an amazing weekend here, getting to know the background of the team itself. I really enjoyed a weekend with MKR,“ explained Kateřina Sokolová.
By the way, trucks have brought her something more than just entertainment and fun from watching a friend live competing in a top racing event. Kateřina Sokolová had a reason to celebrate in Misano, too. “Last year it was my first time in Misano and I met my boyfriend here. We’ve come together this time, so it’s a kind of celebration of our anniversary, we‘ve been together exactly one year. It’s wonderful that truck racing has brought also something extra to me, a victory of another kind,“ the Miss shared her excitement.
How come that truck racing can draw attention a fragile girl like herself? “Well, trucks are attractive by being completely different from any other type of competition. There’s a lot of excitement and I’m incredibly nervous watching them, especially when Áda is on the track. I can really let my emotions loose here, which is the reason why this sport has taken my heart,“ added the Miss Czech Republic 2007, who is no stranger to sports environment thanks to her TV sports reporter experience.
