Lacko Misses the Spanish Trophy by Three Points
29.11.2011
This year is literally a podium season for Adam Lacko. Not only has he become Europe’s third best pilot, but he also climbed one rank higher when the best pilots of the Spanish trophy were announced. Overall, Lacko landed the silver spot, losing to the last year’s champion and the title’s defending pilot Antonio Albacete.
‘He missed the victory by a mere difference of three points. In Spain, truck racing is incredibly popular, so much so that the Spanish have their own cup. I can say that participation here is a tradition for me. This time I was leading until the last race in Jarama, secretly hoping that I could steal away the victory from Antonio. Although I didn’t meet that goal, the finish was very tight, so I’m pretty cheerful,‘ said Adam Lacko with satisfaction.
The Czech pilot defended his last year’s win. Similar to the preceding season, only the Spaniard Albacete was faster. ‘Last year I had a slightly different position. This time I wanted to get to the top after changing both the team and the truck. It was a much more equal fight, that’s why I’m a lot happier about this year. But next time it’s finally gonna work out,‘ promised Adam Lacko.
